Shortly after the release of the FirePro W9100, AMD releases the W8100 for those looking for solid performance out of a professional graphics card, but are on a slightly lower (or should we say less high) budget.
The FirePro W8100 Professional Graphics Card is powered by Open CL, and is designed for the newest generation of 4K computer aided design (CAD), supercomputing applications, engineering analysis, and media/entertainment. One of the newest features of the FirePro W8100 is eight gigabytes of GDDR5 memory which can compute 4.2 TFLOPS of single precision performance, which makes it the ideal professional grade solution for CAD as well as other apps that are dedicated to processes such as video editing, color correction, compositing, design visualization, and any other GPU-accelerated compute tasks.
This new graphics card is designed to enable its workplace users to load much larger datasets and handle even larger ultra HD video frames on the internal memory. You you can combine up to four of the W8100 professional graphics cards which, will give you a total of at least 16 TFLOPS.
The MSRP for the W8100 is $2499, and it has already begun shipping.
