Samsung’s new hybrid SC-DX10 camcorder records in flash memory

reprinted from a Samsung press release: RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J., July 11, 2007 Samsung Electronics, an award winning innovator in camcorder technology and design, announces a new compact hybrid flash memory/DVD camcorder that enables DVD burning without any external connections. Samsungs SC-DX10 records videos on 4GB of built-in flash memory providing quick recording directly on the camera. Consumers can burn their video directly to a DVD within the camera itself, using the units own battery with no need to plug-in any cable connections. Users can also burn video to DVD while the camcorder is plugged in. With 4GB of built-in flash memory and the option of recording directly onto DVDs on the fly if the 4GB runs out, the SC-DX10 guarantees extended hours of easy shooting while on the road. For example, one could video their friend blowing out birthday candles and then hand them a DVD of that moment on the spot. Designed to provide the highest level of convenience, the SC-DX10 allows consumers to edit fresh footage directly on the camcorder using the 2.7-inch LCD touch screen. Samsungs exclusive swivel hand-grip adjusts for regular and low angle shooting and the strategic placement of secondary On/Off and Zoom controls accommodate any recording situation. Additionally, the Samsung i-Check function tells consumers how much battery life is left, as well as how much memory/disc space is left so you never miss an inspiring event. "Taking the hassle out of converting memories into movies, the SC-DX10 represents Samsung's commitment to convert time spent in research and development into creating innovative products that not only impress feature-wise, but are easy to learn and use, said Reid Sullivan, vice president of Digital Audio & Video Marketing at Samsung Electronics America. "Samsung continues to offer camcorder solutions that fuel the personal media boom, enable consumers to capture lifes most important moments, and most importantly, share those moments online or in their living room with friends and family.
