Today, Vimeo rolls out a new tool that will help businesses looking to find and hire “world-class” video professionals” to shoot their projects.
The platform now offers a “For Hire” marketplace. It’s a place for anyone “looking to produce high-quality video,” says Vimeo. In the marketplace, anyone looking for a pro to shoot a project for them can post a project request. They can also browse Vimeo’s listed pros for hire. Those will range from professionals like filmmakers, editors, videographers and animators. Freelance video professionals can similarly search the listing pages for open jobs that match their expertise and find paid projects.
And here’s the best part: Vimeo takes no commission or fee from the connections and projects created.
How many pros will be open for hire?
At its launch, Vimeo will offer job listings from businesses and brands like VaynerMedia and Square. Additionally, it will offer access to over 30,000 video pros. Those will include award-winning Vimeo Staff Pick filmmakers, animators and artists like Sontenish Myers, Jordan Bruner, Drew Christie and Eric Power.
Vimeo “For Hire” marketplace will help both businesses and video pros
The “For Hire” marketplace will connect those looking to hire video professionals directly. They can search based on budget, project type, location, skills and experience and post “for hire” listings to connect with the right people for the job. There’s also no fees or commissions, so what they’re spending is going directly to the pro.
Ultimately, it will allow businesses to find creators more easily, meaning more work for the creators. Freelance video professionals can search the listing pages by criteria like location, type of project and skillset, submit to jobs that match their skills and expertise.
The marketplace is open now
The market is available globally right now in seven languages. Any paid Vimeo member can be included in the professional marketplace by marking their account as “available for hire.”
