Congratulations to Hollyland for taking home Videomaker’s Best Microphone award at NAB 2025 in Las Vegas. The award goes to the Hollyland Lark M2S.
The Lark M2S is a ightweight wireless microphone setup designed to simplify audio capture in a range of recording scenarios. Weighing just 7 grams, the transmitter sports a discreet design that can clip onto clothing without drawing attention. Despite its small footprint, this mic offers several features intended for anyone seeking dependable sound performance.
Great audio quality
The company states these specifications help capture lifelike tone and presence, whether you’re recording dialogue or ambient sound. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 70 dB and a maximum sound pressure level of 116 dB, the LARK M2S is aimed at preserving clarity and minimizing distortion even in crowded or noisy settings. This means you can rely on the mic to deliver intelligible audio for interviews, vlogs or educational videos.
Advanced noise cancellation
The LARK M2S includes one-touch noise cancellation, which can be toggled directly on the mic or through the LarkSound app. According to Hollyland, you can select between two levels of noise cancellation – labeled “strong” or “weak” – to fine-tune audio in different recording environments. For content creators, the ability to quickly switch noise suppression modes can streamline post-production.
Impressive operating range
When you’re filming in open spaces or need distance between yourself and the camera, range can make or break a wireless mic system. Hollyland reports that the LARK M2S delivers reliable performance up to 300 meters (about 984 feet) in ideal, line-of-sight conditions. This extended coverage may be useful in wide outdoor shoots, event coverage or sports filming where flexibility is key.
The system also features a specialized RF interference-resistant circuit designed to keep signals stable in more crowded signal environments like busy streets or conference halls.
Extended battery life
Battery longevity is often a concern for mobile creators, and Hollyland addresses this with up to nine hours of operating time per transmitter. The included charging case bumps that to an approximate 30 hours total before you need to find a wall outlet. That’s especially helpful for road trips, wedding shoots or weekend projects where power sources might be limited. Recharging is also designed to be quick – the mic and receiver pair can be fully refreshed in less than 1.5 hours according to the company.
User-friendly controls
For those who want a straightforward user experience, the LARK M2S offers a charging case equipped with a simple dial. Hollyland notes that this dial manages pairing, power, volume and mute, eliminating the need to fumble through on-screen menus.
Meanwhile, automatic pairing means setup can be as easy as taking the microphones out of the box and placing them in the charging case to sync. The receiver’s display includes indicators for battery status and connection, helping creators confirm everything is working before hitting the record button.
Pricing and availability
The Hollyland Lark M2S is out now for $139.
