Congrats to the Lexar Professional CFexpress 4.0 Type B Card DIAMOND Series. This media card is taking home our prize for Best Storage of CES 2024.
It might sound odd to get excited about recording media, but his new card from Lexar deserves some hype. Thanks to the latest PCIe Gen 4 technology, this DIAMOND Series CFexpress card boasts read speeds up to 3,600 megabytes per second along with write speeds up to 3,300 MB/s. While those are peak read and write speeds, Lexar also promised sustained write speeds of up to 3,200 MB/s.
Why speed matters
These transfer speeds are more than adequate for editing footage directly from the media card. That means you can both record and edit professional-quality video using the same Professional CFexpress 4.0 Type B Card DIAMOND Series — no need to transfer footage from one drive to another before you can start editing.
Of course, these speeds are based on Lexar’s internal testing. Like with any storage solution, actual speeds will depend on the host device.
