JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY announced today that its GY-HD100U 24p ProHD camcorder will be supported by Avid Technology, Inc. nonlinear editing systems to offer broadcast professionals a variety of cost-effective software editing solutions.
Avid nonlinear editing systems Avid Xpress Pro HD, Avid Media Composer Adrenaline HD, Avid NewsCutter Adrenaline and Avid NewsCutter XP will all work with the GY-HD100U, the world’s first truly professional, affordable high-definition camcorder with true 24p capture and recording. The solutions will offer native support of HDV capture, editing and transfer back to tape. In addition, integrated native MPEG-2 Long GOP editing, with specific enhancements for capture and digital cut back to tape will make these software solutions compatible with JVC’s new ProHD models.

JVC’s GY-HD100U is a full resolution ProHD progressive camcorder. Its performance is expected to surpass all other cameras in its price range, while offering features and stability found only in the highest priced electronic cinematography models.
