Lite-On IT, a world leader in optical storage technologies, announced its first DVD ReWritable drive that supports the DVD +R/RW and all major CD formats. First Customer Availability of the LDW-401S 4X Internal Drive is August through Lite-On Authorized Distributors, Resellers and select Retail locations. Lite-On’s initial entry into the DVD ReWritable segment comes with a suite of software applications that provides users with a complete and easy-to-use DVD solution.
Multiple Recording and Rewrite Capabilities
The Lite-On LDW-401S DVD Drive can read and record DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-R, and CD-RW formats, with Lite-On’s Smart-Burn buffer under-run protection for more reliable recording. In addition, digital audio enthusiasts will appreciate the drive’s 40x DAE (digital audio extraction) speed for ripping audio files.
Supporting the ATAPI/E-IDE interface, the internal LDW-401S is the first Lite-On drive to support 4X write-once recording, allowing for a full DVD disc to be burned in less than 15 minutes. Key performance specifications for the LDW-401S include 4X4X12X speeds for DVD recording and playback and 40X24X40X speeds for CD recording and playback.
With an LDW-401S, users can record up to two hours of high quality DVD video or other data on a 4.7 GB DVD disc, and up to 700 MB of video, music, or image data on a CD disc. With the right combination of peripherals and an analog video capture card, users can transfer their old videos and print photographs to optical DVD or CD formats for the capture, sharing and protection of valuable digital content.
Complete DVD Solution
The LDW-401S comes with multiple software titles to give users a complete and easy-to-use DVD solution. Bundled software includes Sonic MyDVD(tm) video-editing software, and Cyberlink PowerDVD(tm) video playback software.
