Videonics, Inc. announced today that the MXProDV Professional Digital Video Mixer is now shipping. The MXProDV is the first live mixer to include the FireWire/i.Link format along with a full analog I/O complement. By utilizing MXProDV’s digital video and audio processing architecture, DV quality is preserved throughout the production process. MXProDV is available at a U.S. suggested retail price of $2,495.
The MXProDV offers a state-of-the-art solution to users of both analog and DV technology in a studio or live environment, commented Matt McEwen, Videonics Product Manager. In addition to production video mixer applications, the MXProDV is ideal for use as a front-end digital switcher for Internet streaming productions.
The MXProDV includes two FireWire/i.Link (IEEE 1394) inputs, one FireWire/i.Link output, four S-video and composite video inputs, and four analog outputs. Any video or audio combination of inputs can be assigned to MXProDV’s four processing channels. This enables video producers to mix DV video and analog video with near instantaneous transitions.
MXProDV combines a switcher, mixer, frame synchronizer, TBC (Time Base Corrector), manual color corrector, a special effects generator, 10-bit (4:2:2) analog-to-digital conversion, and proprietary FireWire/i.Link technology that is compatible with DV camcorders and VCRs.
