These lenses can turn a smartphone into a super-wide or telephoto camera

Smartphones are quickly becoming a viable way for hobbyists to make the big jump into filmmaking, especially with new lens attachments like this coming out.

Olloclip has unveiled new Super-Wide and Telephoto lenses for both iPhones and Android. The company has also introduced a new “Intro Series” combo lens that mixes both a macro and wide angle.

Three new filmmaking lens attachments for smartphones:

The Olloclip “Pro Series” Telephoto lens is reported to have a 2x optical zoom. This should make it very helpful for those wanting to get close-ups. It could also lend itself to time-lapses and 360-degree recording. It offers built-in multi-element coated glass optics.

This lens should work with any smartphone and camera app since it uses a lens clip to attach to the device.

It’s priced at $99.

Olloclip’s “Pro Series” Super-Wide lens is said to produce the least lens distortion of any wide angle smartphone lens around. This lens can double your camera’s field of view and seems like it would work great for landscape or architecture shooting.

Like the “Pro Series” Telephoto lens, the Pro Series Super-Wide Lens uses a lens clip, so it should work with all smartphones and apps.

It’s priced at $99 as well.

Olloclip Intro Series 2-in-1 Combo Lens

What Olloclip’s introduced here is a new “Intro Series” line for beginners working on a budget. This lens is a Wide-Angle and Macro Intro Series combination lens. Essentially, it’s both a wide-angle lens and a macro lens. It’s similar to the lenses mentioned before but is built as screwable and unscrewable attachments.

Each lens costs just $19 on olloclip.com.
