Tilta has released a full camera cage for Nikon’s flagship Z9 mirrorless camera. It is also available in Basic and Pro kit bundles.
Full cage
The Tilta Nikon Z9 cage is manufactured from high-quality aluminum alloy materials and weighs 9.3 ounces. As a full cage, it provides complete protection for your camera body. It also has built-in silicone cushions to protect the camera from scratches. The cage attaches to the Nikon Z9’s base with a 1/4-inch-20 screw, and there is even a magnetic screwdriver in the base. In addition, there are security mounting attachments, located near the top right and left side of the camera. You attach these to the camera’s strap eyelets.
Expansion options
The Tilta Nikon Z9 cage has lots of options for expansion. The top of the cage has a built-in cold shoe mount. The left-hand side of the cage has a built-in NATO rail. This means you can quickly mount accessories such as a side handle. The right-hand side of the cage also has a cold shoe mount. This means that you can mount accessories while the camera is in vertical shooting mode. There is an Arca-Swiss standard bottom plate under the cage so you can transition quickly from tripod to gimbal. In addition, all four sides of the cage have multiple 1/4-inch-20 screw holes so that you can expand your rig.
Kit options
You can attach Tilta’s 15 mm rod mounts to the front and back of the Nikon Z9 cage. This means you can use rod-mounted accessories without adding a base unit to the cage. The Tilta Nikon Z9 cage Basic Kit comes with a dual 15 mm rod holder attachment. It also includes a quick-release top handle with Arri locating pins. The Pro Kit consists of the handle and rod holder. In addition, you also get the Left Side Advanced Power Handle and mounting attachment. With the Power Handle, you can start and stop recording via the included USB-C control cable.

The Tilta Nikon Z9 cage retails at $99 but is currently on sale for $89. The Basic Kit is available right now for $134 — against a regular selling price of $149. The Pro Kit retails at $419, but you can get it now for $377. For more details, go to Tilta’s official shop.
