Pond5 and DJI add clips from international pilots to aerial video collection

Last year marked the launch the Pond5 and DJI premium footage collection. Now, the previously US-based collection is adding international works.

Pond5 and DJI’s updated collection will now feature footage from the world’s top international drone filmmakers. The program is expanding on the work from US-based, FAA-certified drone pilots that was available at launch.

Below is Pond5’s promotional video for the announcement:

“When we launched this program with DJI, we had appropriately high hopes, but the response we received still exceeded our expectations,” said Pond5 CEO Jason Teichman. Since launch, the collection has offered over 7 million videos and over 1 million audio files.

“There’s a big time and money investment that goes into achieving the level of experience required to create the kind of professional-quality drone footage that buyers demand,” Teichman continued.

The program now promotes international pilots

Pond5 promises to acknowledge artists who have made the investment to become skilled drone pilots. At the same time, they want to make sure the aerial footage they receive is top quality.

Additionally, all of the contributors featured in the Pond5/DJI collection are certified drone pilots. Each will provide documentation of individual aerial training courses and certifications from their home territories.

“We’re thrilled to support the dedication of the filmmakers featured in this collection, both to learning the rules and regulations of their airspace and to capturing video that continues to amaze everyone who sees it,” said Mario Rebello, DJI Country Manager, North America.
