If you’ve been thinking about whether or not you should invest in the Z6 or Z7, Nikon’s sweetened the deal with a free FTZ lens adapter with every purchase.
That is right. Nikon’s bundling the $250 FTZ lens adapter — which adapts F-mount lenses to Z-mount — for free with the Z6 and Z7. If you happen to shoot with a Nikon full-frame DSLR, the case to upgrade to the Z6 or Z7 has never been stronger. Not only will you be saving money, but you’ll also be able to keep using the same lenses you were using before thanks to the adapter.
NIKKOR lenses on Z Series mirrorless cameras
With the FTZ adapter, over 360 F-mount NIKKOR lenses are supported by the Z Series mirrorless cameras. Plus, Nikon promises there will be no change to the image quality and guarantees full compatibility with over 90 NIKKOR lenses.
Additionally, features like Hybrid-AF and 3-axis in-camera Vibration Reduction will be supported with the F-mount lenses because of the adapter.
A deal that’s just gotten better
Previously, the lens adapter was being offered with a deal bundle, giving buyers a $100 discount when paired with a camera. However, now the adapter is being bundled with the camera for free. We’re not sure what caused Nikon to switch the prices, but we’re not complaining.
Availability
The FTZ adapter be included free when you purchase the bundled $1,997 Z6 or $3,397 Z7. Canon’s also offering a EOS RP adapter for free with the $1,299 EOS RP and $2,299 EOS R.
