HyperX, the gaming peripherals team at HP Inc., has announced the launch of two new gaming monitors. The HyperX Armada 25 and Armada 27 are interesting propositions, as they both come supplied with a desk mount and ergonomic mounting arm.

The Armada 25 monitor has a 24.5-inch full HD (1920×1080) IPS panel. The monitor also has a fast 240 Hz refresh rate and response time of only 1 ms. The peak screen brightness is stated as 400 nits. In addition, HyperX claims that the monitor has vibrant, accurate color and supports 95 percent of the sRGB color gamut. The Armada 25 monitor has one DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0 ports.

The larger HyperX Armada 27 monitor has a 27-inch QHD (2560×1440) IPS panel. At 165 Hz, the refresh rate is slower than the Armada 25, but the response time is the same at 1 ms. In addition, the Armada 27 features VESA DisplayHDR 400. This means it can display HDR content with a peak brightness of 400 nits. Regarding color accuracy, HyperX claims that the Armada 27 supports 95 percent of the DCI P3 gamut. The monitor has the same single DisplayPort 1.4 and a pair of HDMI 2.0 ports as the Armada 25.

Nvidia G-Sync

Both monitors are Nvidia G-Sync compatible. This technology only works when the monitors are connected to a compatible Nvidia graphics card. G-Sync varies the display’s refresh rate to reduce screen tearing, stuttering and juddering during fast-paced games or video.

Gaming mount

Both monitors are supplied with the HyperX Armada Single Gaming Mount, an ergonomic Armada arm and an Armada desk mount. This mounting system is compatible with all HyperX monitors and can also be used with most displays with VESA 75 mm and 100 mm mounts. In addition, you can get an optional HyperX Armada Gaming Mount, which allows you to mount up to four 25-inch or two 27-inch monitors together.

The HyperX Armada 25 and HyperX Armada 27 monitors are aimed at the gaming market. However, they promise high-quality displays with good accuracy, which could be useful for video editing. If you are going to use the monitors for color grading, you should consider using a color calibration device to ensure their color accuracy. In addition, the 400 nits of the Armada 27 is lower than the optimal brightness level for HDR.

Pricing and availability

The new products will be available through HyperX US online shop. The HyperX Armada 25 Gaming Monitor will retail at $449, and the Armada 27 Gaming Monitor at $499. You can also buy the mounting arm separately. The HyperX Armada Single Gaming Mount will cost $109 and the HyperX Armada Gaming Mount Addon for additional monitors will be $79. All products should be available from September 2022.
