Canon unveiled a new 4K HDR reference display

Canon ends the year swinging with its recent announcement of the Canon DP-V1830 Professional Reference Display. It comes with an 18.4-inch screen, 4K HDR capabilities and an array of impressive technologies. The Canon V1830 looks like a seamless addition to Sony’s line of 4K reference displays.

Canon V1830 overview

At only 18.4 inches, the Canon DP-V1830 Professional Reference Display adheres to the HDR industry standard. It seems perfect for broadcast vans, sub-control rooms and video village applications.

Weighing just 16.5 lbs, you can install the display on any EIA standard 19-inch racks, opening up limitless options for both on-the-go and studio workflows.

Display

The Canon DP-V1830 Professional Reference Display’s peak luminance of 1,000 CD/m² meets ITU-R BT.2100 HDR parameters. Utilizing Canon’s unique LED backlighting system, the display features a wide color gamut, 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and supports the entire HDR spectrum. Their proprietary optical configuration also helps mitigate luminance and color variations. This is great for providing your team with a wider angle of view and allowing for more people to view the monitor accurately from any direction. The monitor has four BNC inputs and four BNC loop throughs and one HDMI input. It has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 that displays UHD 4K natively while providing two options for displaying 4K DCI. The display comes with an anti-glare coating as well.
