Accsoon ships SeeMo Pro SDI and announces support for DirectorMonitor ATEM Mini control app

Accsoon has made two big product announcements. The first was that the Accsoon SeeMo Pro SDI device is now shipping. The second big reveal was that the DirectorMonitor ATEM Mini control app can now be used with SeeMo HDMI and SeeMo Pro SDI.

Accsoon SeeMo Pro SDI

The SeeMo Pro is an adapter for iOS devices that enables monitoring, recording and streaming. It accepts HD signals up to 1080p 60 fps over either HD SDI or HDMI. Accsoon claims that the SeeMo Pro SDI transforms an iPad or iPhone into a fully featured production monitor. The adaptor also features a tough but lightweight aluminum body with four 1/4-inch-20 anti-rotation mounting points.

The Accsoon SeeMo Pro SDI’s connections

The SeeMo Pro SDI is a small box that goes between your camera and your iOS device. It has both HDMI and SDI inputs and USB-C or Lightning outputs. It also has an SDI loop output which you can run to another monitor or a wireless video transmitter. You can power the SeeMo Pro SDI with NP-F batteries or the 2 pin DC connector. In addition, there is a 5v 2.4A USB-C power output which you can use to power your iPad or iPhone.

DirectorMonitor ATEM Mini control app

The DirectorMonitor app from Odeon Software Inc now works with SeeMo Pro SDI and SeeMo HD. This means you can use an iPad or iPhone to monitor and control the multiple video inputs of a Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini video switcher. The ATEM Mini MultiView, Program/Preview out or any of the ATEM’s video inputs is also displayed alongside the DirectorMonitor app’s iPad or iPhone touchscreen controls. In addition, you don’t need any additional monitors to livestream, just the ATEM Mini, SeeMo, your cameras and an iPad or iPhone.

DirectorMonitor features

With DirectorMonitor, you have control of ATEM Mini’s primary control buttons and macro buttons. You can also view any 1080p video source using the Accsoon SeeMo HD or Pro SDI. In addition, the Video In is configured to recognize the ATEM Mini’s MultiView and enable push button controls. For example, you can tap the MultiView pane to select the current Preview and tapping the current Preview a second time selects it as the Program. Alternatively, tapping the Preview pane performs a Cut with the Program and tapping the Program pane performs an Auto transition with the Preview.

What we think

The SDI inputs on the SeeMo Pro make the device compatible with a wide range of professional video and cinema cameras. The additional inclusion of an HDMI input means that you can also use the device with mirrorless cameras or other HDMI sources such as a computer. The SeeMo Pro is a great way to utilize the high-quality screen on your iPhone or iPad for video monitoring. In addition, the added functionality with the DirectorMonitor app is a real plus if you use an ATEM Mini. If you have an iOS device that you want to use with your camera, SeeMo Pro may be the solution you need.

Pricing and availability

The Accsoon SeeMo Pro SDI is shipping now and costs $349.

DirectorMonitor with SeeMo compatibility is also available now. You can download the app for free with demo mode access. You will be able to use most features but there are limitations on the number of events and activities that can be added. In-app purchases are required to access all of the app’s capabilities.
