The Arri True Blue fixtures are available in three different models; the T1 (1000 W), T2 (2000 W) and the T5 (5000 W). The fixtures are essentially similar with the major difference being the light output.
The Light Head
Equipped with a Fresnel lens, each light is encased inside specially designed aluminum housing. The aluminum construction reduces the overall weight of the equipment while maintaining its sturdiness and improving weather and rust resistance.
The housing has been provided with ArriÂ’s patent pending cooling system that consists of ventilation ducts. When air passes through these ducts it circulates around the light transferring the heat more effectively resulting in a reduction in temperature of housing by about 25 percent and the lamp by 17 percent.
Features
The fixtures come with a four leaf barndoor. Using these doors, both the vertical and horizontal spread of the beam can be adjusted. The doors have been made out of an alloy that is resistant to distortions, ensuring good result for a long time.
Brackets to attach accessories in front of the lens have been provided along the rim. The brackets can hold two or four scrims (an accessory used to alter the properties of light output like colour, intensity etc.) and are adjustable, thus leaving not gaps when two scrims are attached. However, adding accessories can shift the weight of the fixture and may create difficulty in tilting the beam angle. To offset this, one has to simply slide the stirrup until balance is achieved. A sliding stirrup has not been provided in the T1 model owing to its compact size.
To avert any undesired movement to the tilt angle after setup has been made, the angle is fixed in position by means of a lock. The operation of the lock is simple yet strong enough to hold the lamp in position even when heavy accessories have been attached. Stainless steel construction imparts better protected against wear and tear in the lock.
The lens has been protected by a stainless steel wireframe. This barrier serves as a safety feature, preventing accidental damage to the lens or a person upon physical contact without compromising the quality of the light output.
