Tripod and related accessories company Benro has just released SystemMove, a series of camera movement tools consisting of a portable lightweight travel jib called MoveUp4 and MoveOver, a family of camera sliders. Their purpose: to add camera movements for enabling a cinematic look.
The 6.7 lb. Move4Up Jib ($499.00 retail) utilizes a compact folding design and has a vertical reach of 6 feet. With a weight of 8.8 lbs., it is well suited for lightweight cameras/tripods and has threaded mounting points for attaching a monitor arm. A soft carrying case is included. Also available is the $949.00 kit, which adds a video tripod, video head and custom case.
The Camera Sliders begin with the entry level 5.6 /5.8 lbs. MoveOver4 Slider. It can support up to 8.8 lbs. and is suitable for HDSLRs/small video cameras along with a flat base head. The slider is center mountable using an included cheese plate, with the threaded end blocks (1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16) allowing the slider to be mounted vertically. The carriage functions through 4 bearings running along two stainless steel embedded rods, providing smooth movement for shooting. It comes with articulated rubber feet for adjusting/leveling the slider and retails at $199.00 @ 600mm length and $249 @ 900mm length.
The MoveOver8 Slider (4.7/5 lbs.) includes all the functionality of the MoveOver4, while increasing the support for HDSLRs, HD video cameras and the flat base head up to 17.6 lbs. The two rails are composed of 100% 18mm carbon fiber for increased strength and support and each end block features a 3/8"-16 female adapter that becomes a 5/8" port for mounting on C-stands and light stands once removed. A deluxe carrying case is included, with $399.00 retail at 600mm length and $499 at 900mm length.
Also available is the MoveOver 12 (9.5/9.8 lbs.), which features 22mm carbon fiber rails and a precise control flywheel with a rubber track belt drive and support of up to 26.5 lbs. Besides availability in 600mm ($649.00 retail) and 900mm lengths ($749.00 retail), the MoveOver12 also comes in a $1549.00 retail kit containing two Travel Flat tripods, two Leveling Bases, a S8 flat base video head, a carbon fiber slider, flywheel with belt drive control, and a deluxe rolling case.
