On The Lot

If you haven't heard about this new show or seen the promo FOX Network is running nightly (this might be the point in time where we weed out American Idol viewers) then now is the time to tell the rest of you (maybe 1% of you) about On The Lot. It's a new TV show created by Mark Burnett, the most prominent reality TV producer, and Steven Spielberg, a film director who you may have heard of once (please read sarcasm). The premise is, of course, to make a reality TV spectacle of being a short film director, where one lucky and relatively unknown director will win a $1 million development deal with Dreamworks. Sounds good, huh? Contestants will have to pass through a gauntlet of short film making 101 tests, where the viewers vote for the best short film weekly. Apparently, it's not too late to submit a film to their website which might get you on the show. We encourage you to do so and we wish you the best of luck. But, if it doesn't work out, you can always create your fame nearly overnight, like someone who we recently spoke with, using your video skills in another way. Andrew Burke will be blogging about him later today– stay tuned.
