Canon announces two new camcorders today. These new consumer level camcorders round off a media blitz last week when they announced the kid brother/kid sister of the XL H1, the XH G1 and XH A1.
First announcement, the Canon HV10, being the “worlds smallest and lightest HDV camcorder” features a sleek and stylish design at an estimated $1399 selling price. The HV10 looks to be a real contender in the compact HDV camcorder class offering a full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 video) CMOS sensor, optical image stabilization and the ability to take 3.1 megapixel still photographs.
Finally, a never before seen consumer, dual layer DVD camcorder, the Canon DC22, enables increased recording time at an estimated $699 selling price.
