TDK announced a new Indi DVD Multi-format Burner at COMDEX this week. The Multi-format Indi DVD burner is targeted at home videographers who would like to create professional-looking home movies on DVD. Indi DVD allows users to put up to two hours of DVD-quality video on a single 4.7GB DVD disc, or up to four hours of better-than-VHS quality footage. The Indi DVD package includes a software bundle from Pinnacle Systems, including Studio 8 SE for video editing and DVD authoring.
The Indi DVD AID+0402 12N writes to the following formats at these speeds: DVD+R (4x), DVD+RW (2.4x), DVD-R (2x), DVD-RW (2x), CD-R (16x), CD-RW (10x); and reads at the following speeds: DVD (12x), CD (40x), CD Audio Rip (32x). The DVD Multi-format model will be available in January 2003. Price TBA.
