Lume Cube has made the first lighting kit for the Mavic 2

There was no doubt DJI’s Mavic 2 would do well. With tons of praised, it looked like it couldn’t get better. Well, it just did with the Lume Cube.

“With DJI as the market leader, the popularity of the recently announced Mavic 2 has led to many requests for us to create a lighting solution specifically for this drone. We’re proud to announce that Mavic 2 pilots can now pair lighting with their drones, allowing their creativity to reach new heights and use their Mavic 2 for a variety of new applications,” said Riley Stricklin, co-founder of Lume Cube

The Lume Cube is the first lighting kit for the Mavic 2

The Lume Cube is essentially a lighting kit for the DJI Mavic 2. It’s the first and only lighting option for the Mavic 2. This lighting kit lights up the dark with “more power, versatility and reliability,” says Lume Cube. The system sports two 1,500-lumen LED lights and costs $190.

The set up includes a custom designed Fresnel lens that gives off LED light with a 60° beam angle, 360° adjustability and no hot spots. And like the DJI Mavic mount design, the Lume Cube uses continues light and strobe capability for FAA Night Flight regulation. It can be operated from the ground with Bluetooth. Also, the Lume Cube can be operate within 100 feet through Bluetooth.

Material-wise, the Lume Cubes are made with an aluminum shell and are waterproof and drop proof. That’s good to hear; you won’t have to as much about the lights breaking if something happens.

These lights are not only for night shooting

As you can guess, the kit will allow Mavic 2 owners to film at night. But the lights can work during the day too. They can eliminate shadows and silhouettes made by sunlight.

Plus, they don’t have to be used with the Mavic 2. You can opt to use the lights with smartphones and cameras — including GoPros.
