We would like to congratulate Zhiyun. The Zhiyun WEEBILL-S gimbal is our choice for Best camera support of CES 2020. Designed to work with many mainstream mirrorless and DSLR cameras and lenses, the WEEBILL-S is unmatched at CES 2020.
According to Zhiyun, the gimbal will offer “ultra-low latency image transmission” in 1080p with a new TransMount Image Transmission Module. Additionally, ViaTouch 2.0 turns your phone into a professional monitor and multi-functional remote controller.
Power
The new WEEBILL-S system has a 300% upgraded power torque motor and a 50% increase in responsiveness. It works well with camera combos like Sony’s A7III+FE 24-70mm F2.8 and the Canon 5D4+EF 24-70mm F2.8. The gimbal can also switch between high and low angle shots using the TransMount. Its 8th Instune algorithm allows the gimbal to automatically recognize weight and select the motor strength.
New image transmission module
The WEEBILL-S’ new image transmission module enables “crystal clear clarity” with 1080p at 30fps, according to Zhiyun. Its 100-meter image transmission range also supports LUTs, pseudo coloring, focus peaking and zebra adjustment for monitoring and live stream publishing.
The module also allows you to add up to three devices to the stabilizer.
Connecting to your smartphone
With ViaTouch 2.0 in ZY Play, you’ll see “seamless” connection between your smartphone and camera. You can monitor video, control and record, and adjust the camera parameters through ViaTouch 2.0. The system can also track objects with SmartFollow 2.0.
Focusing
The WEEBILL-S uses electronic focus and mechanical focus/zoom control with a control wheel on the grip.
Battery
In total, the gimbal can run for 14 hours straight. It also has interchangeable batteries, so you can keep them charging to make sure there’s no downtime.
Pricing and availability
The WEEBILL-S is currently selling for $439 for the Zoom/Focus Pro package. As for the Image Transmission Pro package, you can get it for $679. Head to zhiyun-tech.com for more information.
