YEYIAN Gaming launches 34-inch 2K SIGURD 4000 curved monitor

YEYIAN Gaming has launched a new ultrawide curved gaming monitor, the YEYIAN Sigurd 4000. The SIGURD 4000 is a 2K resolution monitor with a 34-inch screen.

Resolution

The YEYIAN ultrawide 34-inch SIGURD 4000 curved gaming monitor has a maximum resolution of 3440 by 1440 pixels. This also means it is a 2K WQHD monitor with an aspect ratio of 21:9. It has a 3000:1 contrast ratio, so you should get vibrant images on the screen. In addition, you can display multiple inputs at the same time. The SIGURD 4000 monitor will overlay a second source with PIP (picture-in-picture) mode. However, it can also display a PBP (picture-by-picture) split screen display.

Color

The SIGURD 4000 monitor has an 8-bit LED VA (Vertical Alignment) panel, which can display 121 percent of sRGB and around 85 percent of the NTSC color gamut. This means that you will get great colors for video editing, but that it may not be good enough for accurate color grading. In addition, the SIGURD 4000 monitor has a brightness of 350 cd/m2 (nits). YEYIAN claims the monitor is HDR ready and HDR400, though strictly, that specification requires a minimum of 400 nits of peak brightness.

Design

Without its stand, the YEYIAN SIGURD 4000 monitor measures 31.83 inches wide by 14.30 inches high. It is also 5.10 inches deep. However, with the stand, the height increases to 20.01 inches and the depth to 8.53 inches. The monitor also has a screen curvature of 1500R. This means that the curvature is the same for a circle with a radius of 1500 mm or 1.5 meters (just over 4.9 feet). In addition, the SIGURD 4000 monitor has an ultra-thin bezel design, so it looks great too.

Other features

The YEYIAN SIGURD 4000 monitor has two DisplayPort inputs and two HDMI 2.0 inputs. It also has a 3.5 mm audio out socket. In addition, the monitor has six preset display modes: Movie, RTS, FPS, Text, Standard and general games. You can switch between these optimized-display screens to change the monitor settings with a single key press. In addition, for gamers, there is Adaptive-Sync Technology which is compatible with AMD and Nvidia graphics cards.

What we think

Ultrawide monitors such as the YEYIAN SIGURD 4000 are great for video editing. A 21:9 monitor isn’t the same screen area as two 16:9 displays. However, you can have a large editing timeline along with clip bins and other program windows set out across the ultrawide display. The SIGURD 4000 isn’t color-accurate enough for grading purposes, but the extra screen real estate is a huge bonus. It’s also available at a great price. If you also like to do some gaming in your downtime, then the SIGURD 4000 could be the screen for you.

Pricing and availability

The YEYIAN 34-inch SIGURD 4000 curved gaming monitor is available now from YEYIAN and other online retailers. It is priced at $369.
