Samsung introduces PRO Plus and EVO PlusSD cards

Today, Samsung unveiled two new lines of SD cards—the PRO Plus and EVO Plus. These two new lines offer “exceptional speeds and improved durability.”

Both the devices are compatible with DSLR, mirrorless and compact cameras, camcorders and PCs. The versatility of these cards allows content creators to store and transfer files across numerous devices.

“For years, consumers around the world have trusted Samsung to deliver high-performance memory cards in a variety of capacities that meet their unique needs,” said Dr.Mike Mang, vice president of the Memory Brand Product Biz Team at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung has gone beyond that with the PRO Plus and EVO Plus SD cards, providing additional layers of protective measures to withstand intensive usage and the most rugged conditions.”

PRO Plus and EVO Plus overviews

Let’s start with the PRO Plus. The card features sequential read and write speeds of up to100MB/s and90MB/s. Due to its write performance, creators can take advantage of 4K video recording and burst shots. The EVO Plus also supports transfer speeds of up to 100MB/s. This means that video playback during post should run smoothly.

Both of the devices offer capacities in 256 GB, 128 GB, 64 GB and 32 GB. Also, the PRO Plus and EVO Plus support 4K UHD and Full HD video recording. In terms of their durability, they have protection from water, temperature, x-rays, magnets and shocks. Both are also wearproof and drop-proof. They can withstand up to a five-meter drop as well as up to 10,000 swipes.
