Roland software update brings the V-80HD and Yamaha DM3 closer together

Roland has announced a new integration between its V-80HD Direct Streaming Video Switcher and the Yamaha DM3 Digital Mixing Console. All you need is a free software update and a network connection cable.

Roland V-80HD

The V-80HD is a compact and powerful video switcher designed for in-person events, livestreaming, and studio productions. It offers an all-in-one design with flexible inputs and outputs that support 3G-SDI, HDMI, USB 3.0 and LAN (RTMP/SRT) connections.

You also get multi-channel audio mixing and effects. In addition, the V-80HD includes integrated control for PTZ cameras and remote operation with video monitoring via dedicated control apps, a hallmark of Roland’s innovation.

Yamaha DM3

The Yamaha DM3 is a versatile and portable 16-channel digital mixer. It’s designed for live sound, as well as livestreaming, content creation, studio work and installations. The DM3 also features a nine-inch touchscreen and an 8+1 fader configuration, together with 16 mic/line inputs and 8 XLR outputs. Also, you get 18 built-in effects and a sampling rate of 96 kHz/48 kHz, making it a formidable companion to Roland’s V-80HD.

Update

Update version 1.1 for the Roland V-80HD delivers control integration with the Yamaha DM3. You only need to connect the DM3 to the V-80HD with an Ethernet cable, setting the DM3’s IP address on the V-80HD. Then you can operate the DM3 scene memories, audio faders and mute controls directly from the V-80HD. You only need to update the Roland V-80HD, there’s no need to update the DM3 firmware.
