Puget Systems launched Intel 12th Gen custom workstations

Seattle-based computer builder Puget Systems has launched a new range of high-performance custom workstations. The Puget Systems based these new workstations around the latest 12th Gen Intel Core processors.

Performance improvements

The 12th Gen Intel Core processors were announced last fall, positioned as powerful chips designed for intensive content creation applications, like Adobe Premiere Pro. So, their inclusion means the processors can deliver between 20% to nearly 50% performance improvements over the previous 11th Gen models.

Additionally, Puget Systems said it put the new family of custom workstations through extensive testing prior to their launch.

Based on the results from its testing, Puget Systems has updated its Recommended Systems Hardware lists. The company conducted tests across multiple content creation categories, including post-production, virtual production, rendering, 3D design and animation and photo editing.

Hybrid architecture

The Intel 12th Gen processors are the first x86 chips to include a new hybrid architecture. This means that the processors have different types of cores on the same piece of silicon. The two types of cores are Performance-cores and Efficient-cores (also referred to as P-core and E-core). The P-cores are fast “big” cores for high-performance tasks, with high clock speeds and Hyper-Threading technology. The E-cores are efficient “little” cores that use less power for low priority and background tasks. When combined with the updated thread scheduler in Windows 11 and running on new chipsets like Z690, this design enables higher processing speeds and better efficiency than previous generations.

Custom build

Puget Systems says its goal is to provide each client with the best possible computer for their needs and budget. To achieve this, Puget Systems’ technology consultants work with you to understand your needs. They then design bespoke systems around your unique workflow, which the company optimized for the work you do every day. The company also claims that they offer industry-leading ship times.

Lifetime support

Puget Systems’ custom workstations come with lifetime support and a labor warranty. This means that even when your parts warranty expires, the company will continue to answer your questions and even fix your computer with no labor costs.
