NAB 2026: NANLUX Evoke 5C 8-Light Kit wins Best Light

Congratulations to NANLUX; the NANLUX Evoke 5C is the winner of Videomaker’s Best Light award at NAB 2026.

NANLUX says that its new Evoke 5C is the world’s smallest professional 8-color spotlight. You can also pick up the Evoke 5C is an 8-light kit which comes in a hard case.

Compact design

The NANLUX Evoke 5C is a tiny light. It measures just 2.2 inches (5.6 cm) by 1.73 inches (4.4 cm) by 1.77 inches (4.5 cm). The Evoke 5C also has a metal body for durability. However, it only weighs 5.64 ounces (160 g). Its compact design makes the Evoke 5C easy to hide in your frame for a subtle fill light. You can hand hold the light for run-and-gun shooting as well. The weatherproof IP67 rating means the Evoke 5C can be used in all conditions. You can even use it under water to a depth of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.

8-color light engine

The Evoke 5C features NANLUX’s Nebula C8 Color Light Engine. The company says it is the industry’s first 8-color light engine. It uses deep red, red, amber, lime, green, cyan, blue and indigo emitters. As a result, NANLUX says it delivers better skin tone reproduction, a broader color gamut and enhanced color saturation.

The Evoke 5C also offers an average CRI and TLCI of 98. In addition, it offers a wider CCT range from 1,000 K to 20,000 K. At 0.3 meters, the Evoke 5C can output up to 5970 lux when set to 5,600 K.

Lighting modes

As well as CCT mode, the NANLUX Evoke 5C has an HSI mode with 360 hues and 100% saturation for flexible color control. There’s also an HSIW mode which adds white point color temperature and green/magenta adjustment. In RGBW mode you can individually adjust the red, green, blue and white channels. Gel mode lets you choose between 460 Lee and Roscoe gels. There’s an XY Coordinates mode that offers precise control within the CIE 1931 color space as well.

Controls

You can control the NANLUX Evoke 5C via the four on-board buttons and the built-in display. You can also use the Nanlink App 2.0 for Bluetooth control. If you attach the magnetic CRMX module, then you can use LumenRadio CRMX control.

NANLUX is planning to release a USB-C to DMX adapter cable which adds XLR male and female connecters along with a USB-C port. This means that you can use DMX/RDM control. The Evoke 5C has 15 built-in special effects modes including firework, police car, explosion, bad bulb and fire as well.

Battery life

The built-in battery on NANLUX Evoke 5C delivers up to 50 minutes at 100% brightness and 160 minutes at 1%. You can charge it with any adapter or power bank that supports 5V/2A or higher. The Evoke 5C can also be powered by an optional battery grip or E27 socket adapter. With the battery grip, you get 4.7 hours of run time at 100% brightness.

Accessories

The NANLUX Evoke 5C features a ¼-20 mount with an anti-twist design. You can also attach various optional modifiers with a magnetic and snap-fit design. The available modifiers include a diffuser, soft dome, barn doors, snoot, Fresnel lens, spot beam lens and projection attachment. Mounting options include a magnetic yoke or baby pin. You can add a magnetic thermal shield or an underwater housing as well.

8-light kit

The NANLUX Evoke 5C 8-light kit comes with 8 lights in a custom-designed charging case. It supports AC power, D-tap and PD via USB-C so you can simultaneously charge the eight lights and the four included battery grips. You also four E27 socket adapters. Inside the case you’ll find eight diffusers and twenty modifiers along with eight gobos. There are 8 magnetic CRMX modules and four baby pins as well.

What we think

The NANLUX Evoke 5C RGB LED Spotlight is a powerful light in a tiny package. It’s ideal for adding hidden fill and accent lights to your scene. With the wide range of modifiers, you can shape the light in lots of interesting ways too. The Evoke 5C also has lots of options when it comes to power. The E27 adapter is particularly useful for using the Evoke 5C in an existing light fitting on location. For something more comprehensive, the 8-light kit offers an all-in-one solution with the power and modifier options you will need in a single charging case. If you are looking to add a versatile new light to your kit, the NANLUX Evoke 5C is a great choice.

Pricing and availability

The NANLUX Evoke 5C RGB LED Spotlight 8-light kit is scheduled for release in June 2026 and will cost $2,950. If you want to pick up a single light, pricing starts at $219.
