Congratulations to Fluotec; the Flutoec Podcaster has won Videomaker’s Best Light award at NAB 2025 in Las Vegas.
The Fluotec Podcaster is an ultra-slim light designed specifically for podcasters, streamers and content creators.
Build
The Fluotec Podcaster is a wide bar-shaped panel light. It’s designed to be installed in a studio setup rather than being taken out on location. However, its slim design means that it only weighs 5.4 pounds (2.45 kg), so you won’t need any specialist installation.
The Podcaster also features a yoke for mounting from above, as well as a mini stand mount. Also, it comes with a diffuser, a power cable, and a safety cable.
Photometrics
The Fluotec Podcaster is a bi-color light with a CCT range from 2700K to 6200K. It also offers a CRI of greater than 95 so the colors in your scene should be correctly reproduced on camera. At 6 feet (1.83 meters), the Podcaster delivers a maximum output of 907 lux. In addition, you can adjust the output from 0 to 100% either locally on the light or remotely via DMX.
Power

As it is intended to be installed in a studio, the Podcaster is a mains-only light with no battery power option. It supports a voltage range from 90V to 240V at either 560 or 60 Hz, so it will work around the world.
At 120V AC, the power draw is 42.36 W (current draw 0.36 A), so you won’t need any specialist electrical installation. The power supply is integrated into the Podcaster so there isn’t a power brick to manage, you simply attach the mains cable.
What we think
The Fluotec Podcaster is a useful light to add to an existing setup or to use when designing the lighting for a new studio. Its bi-color design means that you can tailor the output to your needs. The ability to dim right down to 0% also gives you fine control over the output. Additionally, the DMX control ensures that you can integrate the Podcaster into your light control system. If you operate a fixed studio setup for your content creation, the Fluotec Podcaster could be a great addition to your lighting rig.
