Kessler Crane Inc last year launched CineShooter, its high-end motion control system. The company says that the product is a culmination of over ten years of motion control development backed by some of the best shooters in the industry.
Modular
The Kessler CineShooter system has more than nine different modes and multiple configurations to achieve the perfect motorized camera move. Kessler designed the CineShooter system to be modular so that you can configure your kit to meet your needs.
Five-axis pan and tilt head
The main component of the Kessler CineShooter system is its five-axis capable true nodal pan and tilt head. This means that the head can control zoom, focus and aperture along with pan and tilt motion
Nodal point Head
CineShooter can perform live, timelapse and stop motion moves. As it features a nodal point head, you can align your camera’s sensor with the device’s Nodal Center. This means you can achieve repeatable, precise, and measured camera movement, which is essential for 3D tracking or VFX shots.
Heavy-duty
Out of the box, the Kessler CineShooter pan and tilt head can support a camera of up to 15 pounds in weight. However, you can increase this capacity up to 25 pounds by adding the Heavy Duty Support Module. CineShooter has an all-aluminum chassis and an Arca-Swiss base mount.
Add-ons
You can expand the Kessler CineShooter system by combining the pan and tilt head with a dolly or slider. In addition, you can add a slider motor as well as focus, zoom and iris motors for full control.
Programming motion
You can program Kessler CineShooter’s motion in several ways. There is a joystick and interface on the pan and tilt head itself. If you add the Smart Handle accessory, you can take advantage of CineShooter’s FreeMotion feature. This means you can manually move the head where you want it to go and then press play. You can also control the head with PlayStation 4 and XBOX controllers or its remote app.
kOS software
For the most control over Kessler CineShooter, you can use the powerful kOS software via a tablet or computer. With this software control, you can add up to 20 keyframes per axis. In addition, via kOS, you can use Event Mode. This means you can program moves and positions then select them on the fly, which is ideal for live event coverage. Other options within kOS include Gigapixel for panoramic shots and Multilapse for simultaneous timelaspes.
Pricing and availability
The Kessler Cineshooter is available now in three base bundles that you can build on to configure a kit to meet your needs. The price for the head only is $2800. The head is also available with the CineSlider for $4800 and the Shuttle Dolly for $5025.
