HyperX unveils the world’s first 300-hour wireless headset

Today at CES 2022, HyperX announced some new additions to its range of headset accessories, including a wireless headset with a long-lasting chargeable battery.

300 Hours

The company’s headline announcement was the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless gaming headset. The Cloud Alpha Wireless can run for up to 300 hours on a single charge when used at 50 percent volume. This means you can game for 10 hours a day and you won’t need to recharge your headset for a month.

HyperX claim this is the longest-lasting battery in a wireless headset on the market. When you do need to recharge, a full charge will take just four and a half hours.

DTS Headphone:X

HyperX isn’t trading audio quality for battery life either. The Cloud Alpha Wireless headset features HyperX DTS Headphone:X for an immersive audio experience. In addition, the headset utilizes a new-and-improved, custom-designed Dual Chamber Technology. There are also new HyperX 50mm drivers, which have a slimmer, lighter design. Despite these changes, the company claims that the Cloud Alpha Wireless headset maintains the sound and performance of the original wired version.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless headset features an over-ear, closed-back form factor. It weighs a little under 12 ounces but has an aluminum frame for durability. In addition, premium leatherette and custom plush memory foam provide the signature HyperX comfort.

Noise-cancelling

The HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless headset has a detachable noise-canceling microphone with an LED status indicator. There are also onboard audio controls on the headset’s ear cup. The headset uses a 2.4 GHz wireless signal with a maximum range of over 65 feet in ideal conditions.

Pricing and availability

The HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless gaming headset should be available from February and has an MSRP of $199.

Other products announced by HyperX at CES 2022 include the Clutch wireless gaming controller and Pulsefire Haste wireless gaming mouse. HyperX also introduced the HyperX Alloy Origins 65 mechanical gaming keyboard with HyperX Red and Aqua mechanical switches. In addition, HyperX is launching the HyperX Cloud II gaming headset in a new pink and white colorway and the HyperX Cloud Core headset with DTS Headphone:X audio.
