Fujifilm has announced its release of the Fujinon XF33mm F1.4 R LM WR prime lens. It’s a unique, interchangeable XF lens supporting their X Series of mirrorless digital cameras. According to Fujifilm, the new XF33mm F1.4 R LM WR has “superior resolution capabilities” and promises silent, speedy and accurate autofocus in as little as 0.04 seconds.

Like the anticipated XF23mm F1.4 R LM WR that was announced on the same day, the Fujinon XF33mm F1.4 R LM WR claims to be the future of large-aperture prime lenses with stunning image quality from “edge-to-edge.” This lens features a compact design, adding mobility and convenience, while its dust and weather-resistant structure makes it ideal for shooting in most environmental conditions.

The silent and smooth autofocus system is particularly handy for shooting in AF-C mode, common for shooting video. Fujifilm’s optical design also minimizes any changes in the angle of view when focusing (known as focus breathing).

Internally, the XF33mm F1.4 R LM WR contains 15 lens elements in 10 groups. This includes two aspherical lenses and three ED lenses, allowing for crisp resolution from edge to edge. With an impressive maximum aperture of F1.4, users can achieve superior quality images and video with minimal digital noise, even in those difficult low-light conditions.
