DJI releases teaser video for new drone with three cameras

DJI has released a teaser video for its latest drone. With the tagline “Spin Your World,” the video was put out across the company’s social media channels.

Teaser video

DJI published the teaser video on its YouTube channel, as well as social media platforms such as X. It’s a blink-and-you-miss-it video, lasting only seven seconds. After a quick barrel roll over an icy seascape, the video spins to reveal a triple camera array on a drone gimbal. The cameras also bear a prominent Hasselblad logo. Then the DJI logo appears along with the Spin Your World tagline. In addition, there is the date 13 May 2005 and the time 12 pm (GMT). That equates to 8 am EDT and 5 am PDT.

What do we know?

DJI hasn’t revealed any further details of the new drone yet. However, the online rumor community is pretty convinced that the new product is going to be the long-awaited Mavic 4 Pro. The camera array certainly looks similar to that found on the current Mavic 3 Pro.

Another speculation is that the Spin Your World slogan means that the new gimbal will be able to rotate its cameras to shoot vertical video for social media. The rounded shape of the new drone’s gimbal does look like it could be designed to spin.

Camera rumors

The DroneDJ website has shared details of what it believes are the camera specifications of DJI’s new drone. Its wide camera will be a Hasselblad with a 100 MP 4/3 CMOS sensor. This will be capable of recording video at up to 60 frames per second (fps) in 6K HDR or 120 fps in 4K. There will also be a 70 mm mid-telephoto camera with a 48 MP 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor. This will shoot 4K HDR at 60 fps or 4K at 120 fps. Finally, the 168 mm telephoto camera has a 1/1/5-inch CMOS and offers 4K 60 fps HDR or 4K 100 fps video.

What we think

Although the teaser video is so short, the new drone from DJI looks very exciting. The option to shoot high-quality vertical is sure to be very popular. There’s been no official word to confirm that the new drone will be the Mavic 4 Pro.

However, the online world is pretty unanimous in predicting that it will be. As such, it’s likely to cost over $2,000, with the impact of any tariffs on top of that. At least we don’t have to wait long for the launch next week to find out more. If you are in the U.S., you will have to set your alarms early that day.
