Lenovo this week is showing off its new Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 5. This latest entry into the ThinkBook lineup features up to a 14th Gen Intel Core i9 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce TRTX 4060 GPU. With specialized AI NIVIDIA TensorRT cores, Intel AI Assist and a dedicated Lenovo LA3 AI chip, this laptop delivers AI-enhanced performance and capabilities.
For connectivity, the ThinkBook 16p Gen 5 offers two Thunderbolt 4 ports and three USB-A ports. There is also an HDMI port on the back of the system. The new laptop also features dual SSD slots for expanded storage capacity.
ThinkBook 16p Gen 5’s enhanced design
Like previous ThinkBooks, the ThinkBook 16p Gen 5 comes in an elegant form factor. In addition to the powerful components inside the new ThinkBook, it features a 3.2K, 16:10 screen with 430nit max brightness and a 93% screen-to-body ratio. With X-Rite color calibrations, the display offers both DCI-P3 and sRGB color support.
The laptop is also outfitted with a redesigned keyboard with improved keys, LED indicators and a TouchPad that aligns better with the keyboard. Improved thermal management, dual fans and a full-length read vent promise to keep the system cool.
ThinkBook 16p Gen 5 integrates AI
The laptop is all-in on AI with the Lenovo LA3 AI chip, Smart Power 3.0 and Intelligent Adaptive Dimming. These features work together to optimize system performance as well as energy efficiency and battery charging.
The computer also features AI video and audio improvements. On the video side, these include better video clarity, background blur and intelligent framing. For audio, the new ThinkBook 16p offers Smart Noise Cancellation that Lenovo promises will virtually eliminate background noise.
Compatible with Magic Bay accessories
Finally, one more stand-out feature of the Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 5 is its integration with Lenovo’s Magic Bay ecosystem. This collection of modular accessories connects via ThinkBook’s proprietary pogo pin connector to deliver enhanced content creation capabilities.
