Today, at CES 2022, MSI revealed the Creator Z17 and the Creator Z16P. As their names imply, both laptop designs keep creators in mind. Not only do these two laptops seem to have all the power it takes to edit video, but they also look portable enough to take with you wherever you go.
The MSI Creator Z17 overview
At its core, the MSI Creator Z17 comes equipped with the new 12th Gen Intel CoreTM i9-12900H processor. This new processor houses performance and efficiency cores, configurable up to 14 cores. In total, this Intel’s new process delivers a 40 percent performance boost and can take on heavy tasks, such as video editing. You also have the GPU configurations to pick from:

- NVIDIA GeForce RTXTM 3080 Laptop GPU 8GB GDDR6

For its display, the MSI Creator Z17 uses a 17” QHD+, 16:10 Touchscreen panel, with a 165 Hz refresh rate and 100 percent DCI-P3.
Additionally, the MSI Creator Z17 features up to 64 GB of storage and weighs 2.49 kg. Its dimensions measure out to be 382(W) x 260(D) x 19(H) mm.
The MSI Creator Z16P overview
The MSI Creator Z16P also features the 12th Gen Intel CoreTM i9-12900H processor. So, you can expect high performance out of the Z16P. You also have the same GPU configuration options as the MSI Creator Z17 and the same 64 GB storage.
However, the MSI Creator Z16P does weigh slightly less than the MSI Creator Z17. Its weight comes out to be 2.39 kg, just .10 kg shy of the Z17. Its dimensions measure out to be 359(W) × 256(D) × 19(H) mm.
A display for all creators to see — and use
A good, accurate screen is important for all creators, especially creators working with video and graphics. According to the MSI, the MSI Creator Z16p and Z17 allow creators to see their projects’ “real colors.” They come equipped with various types of displays all creators crave, such as QHD+, which ensures Calman Verified verifies all the panels.
Pen touch support
Both the MSI Creator Z16p and Z17 lines support pen touch. This helps digital artists and graphics artists achieve more productivity right on the screen. Plus, with the MPP2.0 technology, the MSI Pen operates as a stylus and a presentation remote, offering more functionality for all creators.
Keeping it cool
It can be very taxing on systems when working with video files, especially on laptops. Overheating is common and can slow down the entire process. The MSI Creator Z16p and Z17 minimize overheating with its Vapor Chamber Cooler. According to MSI, the chamber offers 79 percent more cooling area, 65 percent more airflow and -2 Celsius lower temperature surface.
