Boxx Technologies has launched its latest range of high-performance computer workstations, the APEXX A3. The APEXX A3 workstation is powered by AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 Series Processors.

CPUs

The AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Processors in the APEXX A3 workstations have up to 16 cores / 32 threads running at 5.7 GHz. As such, these processors can support simultaneous multitasking without a drop in performance. This makes the AMD Ryzen 7000 Series ideal for intensive applications such as 3D modeling, rendering complex scenes or powering VR.

GPUs

You can configure the APEXX A3 workstations to meet your own needs. This includes adding up to two professional-grade GPUs, with both AMD Radeon Pro and NVIDIA RTX options available. Boxx Technologies have also stated that next-generation NVIDIA Ada upgrades will be available by the end of the year.

Memory and storage

The APEXX A3 workstations can be configured with up to 128 GB of 4800 MHz DDR5 system memory. You can also add up to three 2 TB Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs for super-fast storage. In addition, there are two further hard drive bays, so you can add SATA SSD or regular SATA hard drives. The SATA hard drive options include capacities as high as 10 TB.

Other features

The APEXX A3 workstations feature liquid cooling for maximum performance. They also come with connectivity like PCIe Gen 5.0, 2.5 GB Ethernet, and USB 4.0.

“AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Processors provide state-of-the-art performance across a wide range of industries,” said Bill Leasure, BOXX VP of Sales and Marketing. “Inside our APEXX A3 workstation, the new CPU’s innovative features will empower architects, engineers, 3D designers, and motion media professionals to create, render, and multitask faster than ever before.”

Verdict

The APPEXX A3 range of computer workstations are powerful systems with high-quality components. Intel 12th Gen processors can be faster if you work with codecs such as H.264 and HEVC. However, for RAW codecs like RED and BRAW, AMD Ryzen 7000 can give up to 40 percent higher performance levels than a similar specification Intel Core 12th Gen CPU. The only downside is that this level of performance comes with a price to match.

Pricing and availability

The APEXX A3 workstations are available now from the Boxx Technologies website. The basic configuration starts at $5,100. This system comes with a 6-core AMD Ryzen 4.7 GHz CPU, 32 GB DDR5-4800 MHz RAM, an NVIDIA A2000 6 GB GPU and a 500 GB M.2 NVMe SSD.
