Congrats to Blackmagic Design; the Blackmagic Design URSA Cine 12K LF Cinema Camera is Videomaker’s pick for the Best Cinema Camera award at NAB 2026.
The new Blackmagic Design URSA Cine 12K LF 100G features 100G Ethernet for high frame rate live production output up to 440 frames per second (fps).
Live production
Blackmagic Design’s CEO Grant Petty hosted a YouTube livestream to showcase the company’s new products launching at NAB 2026. The focus of this year’s releases was around live video production and streaming with new network storage, and switchers. However, Blackmagic Design also announced an upgrade to an existing camera and a new camera model.
URSA Cine 12K LF software update
The Blackmagic Design URSA Cine 12K LF has a large format sensor which delivers up to 16 stops of dynamic range. Now you can use the camera for live production thanks to a free software update. After the update, you can output SMPTE-2110 IP video from the camera’s built-in 10G Ethernet port. You simply select the SMPTE-2110 option from the camera’s menu. Additionally, you can apply a dedicated 3D LUT just to the SMPTE-2110 output.
New accessories
To better equip the URSA Cine 12K LF for broadcast, Blackmagic Design has also produced some new optional accessories. There is a new B4 mount you can install on your camera so that you can use broadcast lenses. You can also get a lens adaptor cable to deliver power and control to B4 lenses.
Plus, there is a new 7-inch studio viewfinder touchscreen monitor which connects to the URSA Cine 12K LF via its USB-C port. You can access all of the camera’s controls via the studio monitor as well.

URSA Cine 12K LF 100G
Blackmagic Design also announced a new hardware-upgraded version of the Design URSA Cine 12K LF. As the name suggests, the URSA Cine 12K LF 100G has a built-in 100G Ethernet port. This high-speed port means that the camera can feed high-speed video for live production. As the B4 lens design uses a crop of the 12K sensor, the new camera can deliver live video up to a staggering 440fps for super slow-motion playback and replays. In addition to the optional B4 lens mount, you can use the B4 lens adapter cable and new studio monitor with the URSA Cine 12K LF 100G as well.
What we think
Some video makers will have been disappointed that Blackmagic Design didn’t announce any new cinema cameras. However, live production has always been a big part of the company’s business. With the software upgrade for the existing URSA Cine 12K LF and the new 100G model, it’s an exciting time for live production. The cameras can deliver cinematic quality live video with 16 stops of dynamic range. Using DaVinci Resolve and Blackmagic Design’s new switchers and recorders, you can also have instant super slow-motion replays, again in cinematic high quality. During the livestream, Grant Petty shared some clips from an ice hockey game that were very impressive. As more people buy high resolution HDR televisions, this may be the future of live broadcasting.
Pricing and availability
The Blackmagic Design URSA Cine 12K LF 100G costs from $8,995 for the body only. The B4 mount costs $495, the lens adapter cable is $95 and the seven-inch studio monitor is $1,495. The new camera and accessories are all scheduled to be available from June 2026.
The software update to add 10G SMPTE-2110 IP video output to the current URSA Cine 12K LF is free. It should be available as a public beta soon.
