Aputure has released the latest in its Light Storm range of COB (chip on board) LED lights. The Aputure LS 600C Pro is a full-color version of the company’s LS 600D Pro (daylight) and LS600X Pro (bi-color) lights.
RGBWW
The LS 600C Pro is an RGBWW LED light. This means that the light emitter is comprised of red, green and blue LEDs along with two white types of white LEDs. One of the white LEDs is tungsten balanced, and the other is daylight balanced. Aputure then uses blending technology to ensure that the array of small LEDs appears as a single source, so you won’t get any visual artifacts when using a light modifier. The LS600C Pro has a Bowens mount which means it is compatible with a full range of modifiers, including Fresnel mounts, light domes and lanterns
Power output
As its name suggests, the LS 600C Pro has a 600W maximum power output. Maximum power consumption is higher at 720 W. At 5600 K with the included LS 600 Series Hyper Reflector, the LS 600c Pro can output over 4150 lux at 3 meters. In addition, the LS 600C Pro has an output of 17480 lux at three meters when used with the LS 1200 series narrow beam hyper reflector. You will need to buy this as a separate accessory, however.
Color accuracy
The LS 600C Pro has a very high level of color accuracy. It has a CRI of 95 and a TLCI of 98. In addition, it has an SSI (D56) of 74 and an SSI (tungsten) of 85. This means that the colors of your subjects will appear correct when lit by the LS 600C Pro.
Lighting effects
In bi-color mode, the LS 600C Pro has a CCT color range from 2300 K to 10000 K. However, It also has over 300 built-in gel color presets, and you can tune it to any color you want in HSI mode. As with other Aputure lights, the LS 600C Pro has fifteen built-in lighting effects. These include fireworks, lightning, faulty bulb, cop car, fire, explosion and party lights. You can control the LS 600C Pro via its control box. You can also use the Sidus Link app, 16-bit DMX, Lumenradio CRMX and Art-net / sACN.
Weatherproof
The Pro suffix on an Apture light means that it is weatherproof. It also means that the control box will charge your batteries when it is plugged into the mains. The light also comes with a 7.5-meter weatherproof cable to join the head to the control box. The control box is available with V-mount or Gold Mount battery options. It also has a 48-volt DC input.
Dimensions
The lamp head of the Aputure 600C Pro weighs 12.92 lbs, and the control box is a further 11.48 lbs, so you will need a sturdy light stand. The LS 600C Pro is supplied in a wheeled hard case with the distinctive Aputure gray and red fabric covering.
The Aputure LS 600C Pro will be available in the first part of quarter three this year. The retail price is $2,490.
