Aputure launches new DELTA Pro portable power solution

Aputure has launched a new portable power solution for filmmakers, the Aputure DELTA Pro. It is designed to give you high-capacity storage and power distribution capabilities while you’re away from an AC power source.

3600 Wh

At the heart of the Aputure DELTA Pro are a 3600 Wh lithium iron phosphate battery and a 3600 W AC power outlet. The large battery capacity means you can power any lights from the Aputure or Amaran range. For example, Aputure says you can power an LS 1200 d Pro and LS 600 d Pro together at full brightness for 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can run an LS 1200 d Pro for over two hours. You can even power 5 LS 600 d Pros simultaneously via the DELTA Pro’s 30A AC outlet.

Output options

The DELTA Pro has a range of power outlets to reduce the need for power adaptors. There are five AC outlets. Four of these are rated at 20A and can output a maximum of 2400 W. The fifth outlet is rated at 30A with a maximum power output of 3600 W. In addition, the device has two USB-A, two USB-A Fast Charge, and two USB-C 100 W ports. There is also a car outlet, an Anderson port and DC5521 port.

Recharging

The full name of the new device is the Aputure DELTA Pro (Powered by EcoFlow). This is because it uses EcoFlow’s X-Stream charging technology and a smart battery management system or BMS. As such, you can fully charge the DELTA Pro from a standard AC wall outlet in only 2.7 hours. You can also charge the device with solar panels, a car charger and EV charging. In addition, Aputure says that the battery has a lifespan of up to 10 years. The DELTA Pro will run 3,500 cycles to 80% of the original capacity or 6,500 cycles to 50% capacity.

Other features

The DELTA Pro large LCD screen gives you real-time analysis, important battery status information and 23 indicators. These include remaining charge and discharge times, battery percentage and input and output power wattages. In addition, there is an EcoFlow App for iOS and Android devices. This connects via WiFi or Bluetooth to remotely access real-time energy economy data such as battery capacity and input and output wattages.

Construction

The power solution is made from a sturdy ABS plastic construction. It also has luggage-style wheels and a handle so you can move it around as needed. This is a useful feature as the DELTA Pro weighs a hefty 99 pounds (45 kg).

What we think

The Aputure DELTA Pro is a great power solution, allowing you to use powerful lights away from an AC source for a reasonable runtime. With slightly lower-powered lights, battery life is even more impressive. For example, you can run one Aputure 300d for nearly nine and a half hours or two for over four hours. The DELTA Pro isn’t just for location shoots, however, as it would be useful when you need extra power and have run out of mains outlets. It could also be a great backup system in case of a power outage.

Pricing and availability

The Aputure DELTA Pro (Powered by EcoFlow) costs $3,299 and is available now. However, Aputure states they can only ship the device via ground freight due to its that high lithium iron phosphate battery capacity. This means delivery times will be slower than usual.
