amaran launches new control app for content creators

amaran has launched a new control app for content creators who use its products or Aputure brand lights. You can download either a mobile or a desktop version of the app. It’s available for iOS, Android, Harmony OS, Mac and Windows.

Designed for creators

amaran used to be a part of the Aputure family, but the two brands now run as separate companies. Anyone who has used either company’s products will know about the powerful Sidus Link control app for Aputure and amaran lights. The new amaran app is powered by the same trusted Sidus Mesh technology as Sidus Link. However, amaran says that its new app has been designed specifically with creators in mind. It features simplified and intuitive controls to make adjusting your lights quick and easy.

Although it carries the amaran name, the new app will control all your compatible amaran and Aputure lights. Its real-time controls allow you to adjust individual lights or multiple lights in a group. You can toggle your lights on and off and adjust the brightness with intensity sliders. In addition, you can quickly identify each light from its icon or color from the device menu. Being able to adjust your lights from one place makes your workflow so much easier, especially if you are a solo shooter.

Customizable shortcuts

The amaran app makes it simple to switch between your favorite lighting setups with its customizable shortcuts. You can save your frequently used parameters so that you can trigger different looks with just one tap. By creating presets, you can also instantly apply these settings to other lights. In addition, the desktop app is compatible with Stream Deck for even easier control. Ted Sim, amaran’s co-founder, said, “The amaran app is the first lighting app designed specifically with creators in mind. It brings all of the power that made Sidus Link so popular in Hollywood but makes it easy for anyone to use.”

What we think

amaran’s range of lights deliver the same features as Aputure’s products but at a more budget-friendly price. As a result, they are very popular with content creators and solo shooters. The Sidus Link app is very powerful, but its professional interface can be daunting for some users. Therefore, it’s great to see that amaran has released the new control app. You can take advantage of the advanced Sidus Link technology in a much more accessible and user-friendly format. If you use amaran or Aputure lights, you should download the app to see what it has to offer.

Availability

The amaran app is available to download for free now.
