AJA Video Systems has released a free update to its Mini-Config software. Mini-Config v2.26.3 enhances AJA’s popular Mini-Converter line with powerful new functionality for select models.

Mini-Config software
The AJA Mini-Config software allows interactive, visual configuration and complete control of USB-enabled AJA Mini-Converters via a single USB connection to a Mac or PC. You can configure your Mini-Converters the way you need them and then disconnect from the host computer. The settings you choose — via the software — are stored in the Mini-Converter, even when the power is disconnected.
HDR metadata passthrough
AJA Mini-Config v2.26.3 adds basic HDR metadata passthrough and optional override functionality for a number of the company’s Mini-Converters. The models gaining the new feature are the AJA Hi5-12G, Hi5-4K-Plus, HA5-12G, HA5-4K, 4K2HD and 12GM. In addition, the update brings new HDMI HDR Infoframe generation for 4K2HD. This will simplify HDR pipelines and offer more consistent results. The update also gives you support for BT.2020 color space with the Hi5-12G, HA5-12G, HA5-4K and Hi5-4K Plus Mini-Converters.
Mini-Config GUI
The v2.26.3 update gives you an enhanced Mini-Config GUI. This shows HDR input and output status and adds an HDR metadata override tab in Mini-Config. The update also adds dual-link capabilities for the AJA 12GM Mini-Converter, including 2×1.5G, 2x3G, 2x6G for inputs and outputs. In addition, the HA5-4K Mini-Converter now includes 2×1.5G output.
Dolby Digital
There are also new audio features in the new update. AJA added Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus audio passthrough support for the Hi5-12G and Hi5-4K Plus Mini-Converters.
Pricing and availability
AJA Mini-Config v2.26.3 is available as a free download from AJA’s support page. The update is compatible with macOS and Windows.
