Nextorage has launched a new range of high-speed SDXC cards for video. The Nextorage NX-F2AE SDXC UHS-II U3 V90 series promises fast transfer speeds and a V90 rating.

Capacities

The NX-F2AE cards come in 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB sizes. They use TLC NAND flash memory, which offers high capacity. Nextorage says the memory also delivers fast, stable write performance with minimal frame drops.

Video Speed Class

The cards meet Video Speed Class V90, so they guarantee a minimum sustained write speed of 90 MB/s. Maximum read and write speeds both reach 300 MB/s. Nextorage says that makes them a good fit for high-resolution 4K and 8K video.

Still photography

The cards are built to handle large data writes. They’re designed mainly for video, but Nextorage says they work well for continuous still capture too. Hybrid shooters who switch between stills and video will appreciate that.

Durability

Nextorage says the cards pass seven durability tests, so harsh locations shouldn’t worry you. The operating temperature range runs from -13 to 185 degrees F (-25 to 85 degrees C). The cards survive drops from 4.9 feet (1.5 m) and bending up to 10 N.

They also resist X-rays and static electricity, and they’ve been tested against magnetism. The contacts are good for more than 10,000 connections.

What we think

High-resolution video needs fast, high-capacity storage you can trust. CFexpress Type B cards are becoming common, but SD cards remain popular. For Sony shooters who don’t want to move to CFexpress Type A, they’re the only option.

The new NX-F2AE cards offer the large capacities you need for 4K and higher resolutions. Memory cards cost a lot more than they did a year or two ago. Even so, these are a great option if you need more storage.

Pricing and availability

The Nextorage NX-F2AE SDXC UHS-II U3 V90 cards are available now. The 256 GB card retails for $299.99. The 512 GB card costs $529.99, and the 1 TB card is $999.99.
