Fujifilm is raising prices across much of its lineup in Japan. Some products now cost up to 23% more, with the new pricing in effect as of Oct. 1, 2026.
What Fujifilm said
The company shared the news in a post on its Japanese website titled “Dear Customers.” It opens by thanking buyers for their “continued patronage of Fujifilm products.” From there, it explains that Fujifilm Imaging Systems Corporation is revising prices on select digital cameras and interchangeable lenses. Instant cameras and smartphone printers are affected too.
Why prices are going up
Rising costs are behind the change. According to a machine translation of the original post, parts and materials have surged in price, pushing manufacturing and logistics costs up with them. Fujifilm says it tried to offset the increase through better production efficiency and cost cutting. Still, the company admits it’s “difficult to absorb only by corporate efforts.”
Cameras and lenses affected
Eight cameras and kits are getting more expensive, with increases ranging from 6% to 15%:
- GFX100 II
- GFX100S II
- GFX100RF
- X-T50
- X-T50 XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ Lens Kit
- X-E5
- X-E5 XF23mmF2.8 R WR Lens Kit
- X100VI
The XF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR telephoto lens also jumps 12%.
Instax sees the biggest jumps
Instant cameras are taking the hardest hit, with prices climbing between 6% and 23%. The Instax Mini LiPlay and Instax Mini LiPlay+ are both on the list. So are the Instax Mini Evo, Instax Mini Evo Cinema and Instax Wide Evo.
Smartphone printers aren’t spared either. Expect to pay 7% to 12% more for the Instax Mini Link 3 and Instax SQ Link.
What we think
This is Fujifilm’s second round of price hikes in about a year. Last year, the company raised U.S. prices in response to President Donald Trump’s tariffs. This time, the driver appears to be the global spike in component costs, especially memory chips. Demand from AI data centers is a big part of what’s pushing those prices up.
So far, the increases only apply in Japan. Don’t be surprised if they spread to other markets soon. If one of these products is on your wish list, now is a good time to buy.
