703 Bolt being used on set

Teradek and SmallHD have joined forces to bring us the 703 Bolt, a SmallHD 703 Bright monitor built with a Teradek Sidekick II. Together, they become an all-in-one handheld wireless monitor.

The 703 Bolt offers 3000 NIT brightness

The 703 Bolt is a 7-inch daylight-viewable monitor that incorporates a built-in Teradek Sidekick II receiver. It features a 1920 x 1080 display panel with 3000 NIT brightness and includes two SDI inputs and one SDI output.

The integrated Teradek Sidekick is compatible with all Bolt 500, 1000 and 3000 transmitters and can transmit 1080p60 within a 300 foot range.

The monitor also features dual-view functionality, allowing users to monitor either a single camera or two cameras simultaneously via SDI. Teradek says that this will require a separate receiver.

The 703 Bolt could be useful to a number of video professionals.

Teradek says that the 703 Bolt could be used by anyone who needs an “instant, precise” view of a shot, but specifically points to Directors and assistant camera operators as the primary beneficiaries. Teradek claims that directors will “[m]inimize the time-consuming back n’ forth walk between the set and video village” when using the 703 Bolt. As for camera operators, Teradek says the 703 Bolt will make for “an excellent companion to remote follow focus systems like Teradek RT.”
