At CES this week, OWC is introducing a completely new line of Thunderbolt 3 products. The new products are the ThunderBlade V4 external drive, the Envoy Pro EX Thunderbolt portable drive, the ThunderBay 4 Thunderbolt 3, the Thunderbolt 3 Dual Display Adapters and the Thunderbolt 3 Dock now for Windows.
Let's do a quick rundown of all them:
ThunderBlade V4
OWC claims that the ThunderBlade V4 is the “fastest external drive on the market today.” It’s said to be capable of speeds up to 2800MB/s Read and 2450MB/s Write. Its capacities are listed to run from 1TB up to 8TB with prices ranging from $1,199 to $4,999.
Envoy Pro EX Thunderbolt 3
This drive seems to be all about portability. “The bus-powered Envoy Pro EX Thunderbolt 3 mobile drive offers high speeds, ruggedness and the ultra-portability of easily being able to carry it in a backpack or coat pocket,” says OWC. It’s reported to have speeds of 2600MB/s Read and 1600MB/s Write that “make it a must-have solution for professionals on the move,” says OWC. It comes in a 1TB for $979 and a 2TB version for $1,699.

The ThunderBay 4 Thunderbolt 3 is setting out to improve upon the Thunderbolt 3 by being twice as fast as the original and by offering a capacity of 48TB. “… this new version will continue to provide the performance the pros rely on to create workflows without limitations and meet the demands of the most complex projects,” says OWC. Prices for this drive start at $699 for 4TB.
Thunderbolt 3 Dual Display Adapters
With these new adapters, OWC says that you will be able to use the displays that work best for you. “Connect two DisplayPort 4K displays @60Hz, or one 5K display @60Hz via the DisplayPort model or two HDMI 4K displays @60Hz via the HDMI model,” says OWC. The Dual DisplayPort Adapter runs for $79 and the Dual HDMI Adapter runs for $99.
Thunderbolt 3 Dock (Windows and Mac)
OWC is bringing the Thunderbolt 3 Dock to Windows, “delivering more connectivity, power and charging capability at the fastest speed available.” The dock offers 12 ports, including dual Thunderbolt 3, five USB 3.1, Gigabit Ethernet, S/PDIF, combo audio, Mini DisplayPort and SD Card Slot, and it’s said to be able to charge your laptop. You can get it for $299.
All of these new devices will be launched on January 8th during CES. OWC’s management team and Founder/CEO Larry O’Conner will be attending CES Unveiled on January 7th and the new products will be on display in OWC’s hospitality suite in the Palazzo Hotel thought the show.
