After Apple debuted their new iPhone lineup in September, Huawei very openly criticized Apple’s lineup posting a video mocking Apple’s Face ID system. Huawei also promised in the video that that they will unveil a “real AI phone” in it’s upcoming Mate 10 lineup, which is set to be unveiled later this month. However, we are getting details a little early thanks to leaker Evan Blass who has obtained and released new images of the Mate 10 Pro. The image highlights the phone’s three-camera setup and it also hints at Huawei’s new AI promises.

Last month, Blass revealed that Huawei was preparing to unveil three new Mate 10 smartphones, those being the Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, and Mate 10 Lite. Blass now says that the Mate 10 Pro will have edge-to-edge display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and will come with three cameras: one 12-megapixel and one 20-megapixel dual-camera setup on its back and a 8-megapixel front camera.
Blass notes that the reactions to the new phones have been polarizing, writing this in a Twitter post:
“Pretty rare to see a phone as polarizing, aesthetically, as this one seems to be. People are totally loving it…or convinced it's hideous.”
When asked what he personally thought about the cameras, he said that you can’t tell until you are actually holding it in your hands.
The leaked image teases at Huawei’s AI attack on Apple; Huawei believes the new phones will be ahead of Apple in terms of AI. Huawei also released a short promo video for the phone on their Twitter account, claiming that it's not just a smartphone, but that it “thinks” and “learns like us” with a revolutionary AI system.
We’ll know more on October 16th when Huawei’s expected to reveal full details for the new phones.
