Wednesday, April 19th, Sound Devices revealed that they will be launching their new audio recorder line with integrated USB audio interface: the MixPre Series.
The series will contain the MixPre-3 and MixPre-6.

Sound Devices said in their press release Wednesday that their two new audio recorders will be “lightweight, robust, [and] ultra-portable” and will be “the perfect audio companions for musicians, sound designers, podcasters and videographers.”

Matt Anderson, CEO of Sound Devices, stated that their “preamps simply have to be heard to believed, whether mic’ing drums, birds, or dialog, using condenser, dynamic, or ribbon mics, the finest textures of the audio are preserved … these products are a must-have piece of equipment for anyone ranging from production engineers and musicians to YouTubers.”
Sound Device promises some unique features with the MixPre Series, here a few of them:
USB Audio Interface
The MixPre Series reportedly will allow you to record while streaming USB audio simultaneously.
Portability and Durability
Both the MixPre-3 and MixPre-6 have been constructed with a die-cast aluminum chassis, allowing for durability while still being lightweight.
Professional-grade Audio
The two audio records are set to have custom-engineering Kashmir mic preamps with analog limiters and 32-bit A-to-D converters
Basic and Advanced Modes
Sound Devices also says that they have designed their new product line with both a Basic and an Advanced mode. The Basic mode is intended for stereo recording, while the Advanced mode is meant for multi-channel recording, offering more advanced settings than the Basic settings.
