Portability and Durability

Both the MixPre-3 and MixPre-6 have been constructed with a die-cast aluminum chassis, allowing for durability while still being lightweight.

Professional-grade Audio

The two audio records are set to have custom-engineering Kashmir mic preamps with analog limiters and 32-bit A-to-D converters

Basic and Advanced Modes

Sound Devices also says that they have designed their new product line with both a Basic and an Advanced mode. The Basic mode is intended for stereo recording, while the Advanced mode is meant for multi-channel recording, offering more advanced settings than the Basic settings.
