Kino Flo Starts Off Their NAB 2017 With Their New Line of Location Lighting System Named Freestyle

At NAB this year, Kino Flo premiered their new line of location lights, naming it Freestyle. Developers at Kino Flo have described the Freestyle systems as “durable, lightweight LED panels” that can be “easily removed for use as set practicals or for unconventional mounting when lighting in tight quarters.”

The Freestyle LED panels include rigging points to allow for suspension from a grid or attachment to a wall and a twist-on mounting plate for 360 degree orientation. Kino Flo also says that the Freestyle panels deliver “bright, controllable >97 CRI white light, full hue and saturation control color, cinema gel presets, and RGB chromatic selection via the AC/DC Select controller.”

Fixtures from the Freestyle line are set to offer color temperatures between 2500K to 9900K and allow users to choose a full range of colors, lumen levels, and green / magenta correction.

Kino Flo says that the Freestyle’s 150W Select Controller technology “achieves bright, soft light with continuous dimming from 100% to 0% on a linear or square curve without flicker at higher camera speeds or at varied shutter angles." They promise that there's “no light level change when shifting from 2500K to 9900K, and the color doesn’t change when the light levels rise or fall.”

The Freestyle will be sold with a full color, programmable Select controller, a 25ft Head Cable, Complete Fixture with removable LED panel and a twist-on Center Mount with the KinoGrip.

The Freestyle system comes in two sizes: Select 31 (3ft) and Select 2 (2ft).
