Litepanel Presents the ASTRA 1×1 EP and the ASTRA 1×1 E Series LED Panels

Litepanel has introduced two new series to their existing ASTRA 1X1 line, the ASTRA 1×1 EP and the ASTRA 1×1 E. Both of these new series are constructed with a modular design that features an aluminum i-beam core for producing a more durable product with superior thermal heat management. Accessory mounting points and lens/filter rails are also aluminum-based, and ergonomic controls are easily identified for manipulation of the power status and dimming and color controls.

The panels feature a curved yoke design with an extensive tilt range and dual integrated cable guides. The combined yoke mounted power supply has a 3-pin XLR locking power connector and takes optional Gold Mount or V-Mount battery plates. Besides additional 14/-20 mounting points, there is also a removable TVMP connector.

The panels possess select premium quality surface mount LEDs, which are paired with custom designed total internal reflection optics. Both series offer a Bi-Color fixture that allows for changing the color from daylight to tungsten on command. Monitoring the temperature of the LEDs is accomplished through a built-in microprocessor that also provides for a smooth dimming that virtually eliminates any noticeable color shift. Also eliminated is the presence of “flicker” at any frame rate or shutter angle.

Alan Ipakchian, Product Marketing Manager for Litepanels, points to the success of the launch of the ASTRA 1×1 Bi-Color panel last year as indicative of the filmmaking community’s positive embrace of Litepanel’s products. “The time, effort, research and development of the ASTRA has produced a panel that once again revolutionizes the use of LED fixtures for the creation of professional content,” he says.

Retail pricing for the ASTRA 1×1 EP series is as following: Daylight 300 watts is $900, with the 300 watts Bi-Color at $1,100.00. Retail pricing for the ASTRA 1×1 E series is as follows: Daylight – $665.00/200 watts, $900.00/300 watts and Bi-Color – $845.00/200 watts, $1,100.00/300 watts. There are also travel kits for both series.
