The Rokinon optics range has increased by two with the addition of its 21mm F1.4 Compact High Speed Wide Angle and 50mm F1.2 Compact High Speed lenses.
Sized and optically designed specifically for mirrorless cameras and compact system cameras, the new lenses will be available in Sony E, Micro 4/3, Fuji X or Canon M mount options with a choice between black or silver cosmetics.
The Rokinon 21mm F1.4 ED AS UMC Compact is a wide angle manual focus lens for APS-C sensor mirrorless cameras that is ideal for capturing landscapes and interior shots. It features eight precision glass elements in seven groups, including one Extra Low Dispersion lens and three aspherical glass elements to deliver high resolution corner to corner images. The 21mm F1.4 lens also features a close focusing distance of only 12”, an internal focusing design and Ultra Multi Coating to optimize light transmission and minimize flare and ghost.
[image:blog_post:58054]The Rokinon 50mm F1.2 AS UMC Compact provides an angle of view that is perfect for portrait and short tele use with APS-C sensor mirrorless cameras. It features an ultra-bright F1.2 aperture, nine precision glass elements in seven groups with two aspherical glass elements and Ultra Multi Coating to ensure image quality.
Both lens models feature smooth, fully damped focusing controls and a 9 blade diaphragm which Rokinon claims gives a superb bokeh.
Manufactured in Korea, the lenses are designed with a high strength aluminum alloy chassis and mount. Both come with removable lens hoods and have non-rotating 58mm filter mounts, which are an advantage for those who use lens-mounted filter-holding systems or polarizing filters.
These high speed compact Rokinon lenses are available for pre-order from authorized Rokinon dealers now. For those who favor lenses with additional features tailored for shooting moving images, Cine versions of each lens will be available in the near future.
